Nicki Minaj - Marilyn Monroe

This track deserves a post of its own...

Out of the 22 tracks on Nicki Minaj's Roman Reloaded this one is definitely the gem in there for me. I think this is the type of ballad that I've been waiting for Rihanna to deliver for a few albums now. At the moment I can't quite decide what it is about the track that just makes it so superb. Like the rest of the album it is just so well produced, with the beautiful twinkling of the piano runs and majesty of the synths accompanied by the thudding drum beats.

I think after the success of 'My Week With Marilyn' on the big screen I can't help but feel this is shouting out for a single release. While Nicki's lyrics are at times quite ridiculous, you can really feel the passion and effort that has been put in here to empathise with the late Marilyn Monroe. Now I don't think we're at the point of asking 'What would Marilyn do?' but I like the idea of where this track is coming from.

"If you can't handle my worst, then you ain't getting my best"
